Dear Families,
We’re reunited, and it feels so good! There is absolutely nothing better than the sights and sounds of our campers excitedly coming down the hill from cars and buses, joining their counselors, meeting new group mates, becoming one big happy camp family. We live all year for this, and it never gets old!
Mother Nature has certainly given it her best shot this week – talk about extremes! – but nothing could dampen the Spirit of Sewataro, and the pure joy of being together at camp. Our rock star counselors went over and beyond to keep the energy high (and the campers cool!) during the heatwave, they entertained like pros during today’s rainy day modified schedule (ask your campers about “Know Thy Counselor” games and dance parties during swim periods up in Liberty Lodge!), and have done their very best to bring the magic of camp to their campers, despite the limitations of adhering to “camp in Covid” guidelines. We consider ourselves very lucky to work with such dedicated youth development professionals!
The week wasn’t without a few hiccups (long PD waits on Day One, an inadvertent all-camp email regarding lice, and a little confusion around life jackets), and we’ve done our very best to fix those issues. We appreciate your patience and understanding, and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused.
We wish you a happy, healthy, and safe 4th of July weekend, and we can’t wait to see our campers again on TUESDAY, July 6th. (No camp on Monday!)
With appreciation and good cheer from camp,
Amy, Emmy, Jeannine, and Ciaran
