Overdays

Fox and Bear sections

A Family Camp style event featuring:

  • Canoeing
  • Fishing
  • Puff Archery
  • S’mores
  • Campfire Sing-Along
  • Picnic dinner for purchase

Tuesday, July 15 &
Tuesday, August 12

3:45pm – 6:30pm

Families are invited to join us at 4:30pm to enjoy some of our most loved activities with your campers. If you are unable to attend with your camper, our staff will accompany them to the activities and they must be picked up by 5:30pm.

Note: Enrollment in camp includes participation in the Overday.

Please use the online Overday RSVP form, letting us whether or not your child will attend by the Thursday prior. (Children not staying go home as usual at 3:45pm.)

Please be prepared to show barcode or photo ID when picking up your child. All campers staying for the event will need to be picked up from camp; busing will not be provided home.

If you are planning to have someone other than a parent pick up your child from the Overday, please email office@sewataro.com giving your permission with your child that morning.

If the weather is not cooperative, the family portion of this event will be cancelled. Campers will participate in special activities indoors and dismissal will be at 5:30pm.

Carnivals

Eagle section

Eagle Carnival! Groups will participate in a color relay, swim, enjoy carnival games & treats, and inflatable obstacle courses! Campers will also have a pizza party and cook s’mores over a campfire.

All campers staying for the event will need to be picked up from camp; busing will not be provided home. The event will wrap up at 6:45pm and pickup will be at 7:00pm.

Wednesday, July 2 & Thursday, August 7

3:45 pm - 7:00 pm

*We serve cheese pizza, grape tomatoes, baby carrots, water, gatorade or lemonade for dinner, as well as popcorn, cotton candy and s’mores during the Carnival event.

Activities

Groups will swim, play games and relays, have a cookout dinner, participate in the famous Counselor Hunt, then make s’mores over a campfire before they camp out in tents under the stars. In the morning, campers enjoy a pancake breakfast and a swim before they head off for another camp day!

*As we are a day camp that operates mostly outdoors, there is not sufficient indoor space to accommodate all of our Owl campers and staff if there is severe weather. If severe weather is predicted during the night (ie. thunder and lighting, heavy rain), we will cancel the overnight portion and dismissal will be at 8:15pm.

Food

Snack:

  • Tortilla Chips and Salsa
  • Veggies with ranch dip

Dinner:

  • Hamburgers
  • Hot Dogs
  • Corn on the cob
  • Chips
  • Watermelon
  • Water

S’mores:

  • Graham crackers
  • Hershey’s chocolate
  • Marshmallows. Yum!

Breakfast:

  • Pancakes (plain and chocolate chip)
  • Sausages
  • Grapes
  • Bananas
  • Yogurt
  • Orange Juice & Water
  • Hot Chocolate

*If your child has allergies and you are concerned about the food, we ask that you please provide alternatives.

What to Bring

Please send the following in a bag labeled with camper’s name, group, and Bus # or PD letter.

  • Flashlight
  • Sleeping Bag
  • Sleeping Pad (optional)
  • Small Pillow (optional)
  • Sweatshirt
  • Sweatpants (optional)
  • Toothbrush and Toothpaste
  • Pajamas
  • Raincoat (depending on the forecast)
  • Insect Repellent (wipes or lotion)
For the Next Day:
  • Shorts
  • T-Shirt
  • Underwear
  • Socks
  • Bathing Suit
  • Towel
  • Lunch*

*Please include a second lunch labeled with camper name and group. This will be collected the morning of the Overnight and kept refrigerated until lunch the next day. Put both lunches in your camper’s regular day bag and everything else in a separate overnight bag.
