Field Trips

8th Grade Senior Campers

Blue Hills Hike

We will board the buses at 9:00 a.m. and travel to the Blue Hills State Reservation. From the South lot parking area, we will head up Blue Hill then back down to the trail museum. The bus will then take the campers to the playground and Houghton’s Pond swimming area where we will swim, play and have lunch.

We plan to return to camp mid-afternoon.

Participating campers should come to camp wearing a bathing suit, with sunscreen already applied, and wearing sturdy shoes. They should bring a non-perishable lunch (sorry, no nut butter), a small backpack, a small towel and a water bottle.

As the 8th Grade Senior Camp staff will attend the trip, campers who do not participate will not attend camp on the day of the trip.

Boating

We will board the buses at 9:00 a.m. and travel to Hopkinton State Park. From there, campers may choose to boat, swim and/or hike. We will eat lunch at the park and plan to return to camp mid-afternoon.

Participating campers should come to camp dressed in their bathing suits and with sunscreen already applied. Campers wishing to boat should bring/wear shoes that can get wet – flip-flops, crocs, water shoes, etc. Campers wishing to hike should bring/wear sturdy shoes. They should bring a non-perishable lunch (sorry, no nut butter), a small backpack, small towel and a water bottle.

As the 8th Grade Senior Camp staff will attend the trip, campers who do not participate will not attend camp on the day of the trip.

  • Water bottle
  • Small backpack

As the CIT staff will attend the trip, CITs who do not participate will not attend camp on the day of the trip.

Project Adventure

We will board the buses at 9:00 a.m. and travel to the Project Adventure Moraine Farm facility in Beverly. There, we will participate in their high ropes challenges.

Participating CITs should come to camp in sneakers with sunscreen already applied. They should also bring:

  • Non-perishable lunch (sorry, no nut butter)
  • Water bottle
  • Sunscreen
  • Small backpack

As the CIT staff will attend the trip, CITs who do not participate will not attend camp on the day of the trip.

Unlike the other field trips, the return to camp will be after our regular dismissal time, around 4pm, and will lead into the CIT Overnights. If your CIT is not attending the Overnight, but wants to attend the PA field trip, alternate pickup arrangements will need to be made.
