“Some old fashioned things like fresh air and sunshine are hard to beat”
Laura Ingalls Wilder
Dear Friends,
They say you can’t have a rainbow without the rain, and that was certainly the case at camp this week; A soggy beginning gave way to sunshine, rainbows, and LOTS of unicorns! Campers who began with us this week integrated seamlessly into their groups, and with the support of their amazing counselors were already making friends by the end of Day One. They say “camp friends are the best friends,” and we are so fortunate to see so many of those connections growing each day.
The week culminated in a sea of Unicorn Spirit, and a special visit from “Diana Unicornadona,” who with the help of Camp – and lots of hula hooping – was able to find her courage to go back to the land of Unicorns. It was camp magic at its best, and we loved every minute!
Week 3 also happens to be S’mores Week (a camp classic!), and we saw lots of happy, chocolate-schmeared smiles down at the Bear Cave. :) (If your child was scheduled to have s’mores this past Monday morning, they will have their treats this coming Monday morning.)
We can’t wait to see our campers again on Monday morning, and in the meantime, we wish you a safe and magical weekend!
With smiles and gratitude from camp,
Amy, Emmy, Jeannine, Ciaran and the entire Leadership Team
