Fishing

Fishing at Camp Sewataro is a tradition, and one of the campers’ all-time favorite activities! The fishing pond is home to bass, trout, sunfish, and perch. Campers are introduced to the values of conservation, instilling a proper respect for all living things. They are taught safe operation of fishing rods and reels as they practice their fishing skills. There is nothing better than hearing a chorus of “I caught a fish!” down at the fishing pond! Our Fishing staff assist the campers with baiting and casting, and are there to keep campers safe.

We practice a catch-and-release policy, but take and send home photos of campers with the fish they’ve caught!
